Five-time major champion Phil Mickelson officially withdrew from the 2017 U.S. Open on Thursday morning, according to ESPN’s Jason Sobel.

Mickelson had previously announced that he would withdraw to attend his daughter’s high school graduation, but he waited to see if a potential weather delay would allow him to do so without pulling out of the tournament.
