Bordeaux winger Malcom, Bayer Leverkusen‘s Leon Bailey and Christian Pulisic of Borussia Dortmund are reportedly on a shortlist of Liverpool targets as manager Jurgen Klopp plans to bolster his attack this summer.

According to Jack Gaughan of the Daily Mail, Manchester UnitedTottenham Hotspur and Arsenal have also been monitoring Malcom, who has impressed in Ligue 1 this season.

The 21-year-old joined Bordeaux from Brazilian side Corinthians in January 2016 and has enjoyed a breakout 2017-18 campaign, netting 10 goals and providing six assists in 33 appearances in the French top flight.

Leverkusen’s Bailey, 20, has also been impressive in the Bundesliga, returning nine goals and six assists in 29 appearances.

Despite being the youngest of the trio, 19-year-old Pulisic is arguably the most established having been a part of Dortmund’s first team for the last three campaigns and a regular United States international.

All of them offer attacking versatility and huge potential.

Klopp’s Reds have been fantastic at times this season and their front three of Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino is arguably the best in Europe.

However, despite reaching the UEFA Champions League final, Liverpool have disappointed somewhat in the Premier League and look set to finish 25 points behind title winners Manchester City.

They do not boast the squad depth to be able to compete for silverware on multiple fronts, and the cover for the front three is lacking.

It is no surprise that Klopp is looking to bolster his front line, and Liverpool are targeting young players with huge potential rather than ready-made stars.

Gaughan reported Malcom’s value at around £40 million, a relatively low transfer fee in the current market for an attacking star.

Due to Malcom, Pulisic and Bailey’s relative youth they should be affordable for Liverpool, but there is always the gamble they won’t make good on their potential.

Klopp has a fine record in developing raw talent, though, and his trio of reported attacking targets would all be exciting additions to his current squad.
