The former presidential candidate, whose love life received a lot of attention during the campaign, announced on social media on Saturday that she was engaged.
Scott popped the question to his now-fiancée, Mindy North, while strolling along the beach at sunset in Kiawah Island, South Carolina.
“As an introverted, quiet person, talking about engagement is a little awkward in some ways, but it’s what I’m most looking forward to.” “The rest is my life.” ,” Scott told The Washington Post.

The couple met about a year ago at church and began dating after meeting at a Bible study, Scott said.
Scott’s relationship status was an unanswered question for much of last year’s presidential campaign. The senator often refrained from commenting on his personal life until revealing in September that he actually has “someone special.”
He did not mention his Noche girlfriend’s name at the time, only calling her “dear Christian girl.” Her first public appearance came two months later, when she joined him on stage during a presidential debate in November. would have been the first unmarried president in over a century if he was elected.
When he publicly acknowledged being his girlfriend for the first time in September, he joked to the Post about why he didn’t bring her to her campaign trail.
“If he’s not going to marry her, there’s no way he’s going to take her to her campaign,” he said. “To be honest, I hope so.”
