Demi Moore made an appearance on “Good Morning America” to talk about her new show “Feud: Capote vs. The Swans” and provided an update on her ex-husband Bruce Willis.
Regarding Willis, who was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia last year, Moore expressed, “Considering the circumstances, he’s doing remarkably well.”
She further explained, “I always tell my children to meet people where they are and not hold onto what isn’t there. Because within that, there is still beauty, sweetness, love, and joy.” Moore and Willis were married from 1987 to 2000 and have three daughters together – Rumer, Scout, and Tallulah.
The “Ghost” actress also shared insights about her role as Ann Woodward in the second season of “Feud.” She described Woodward as a complex individual who led a tragic life.
Woodward, a radio actress and socialite, earned the nickname “Bang Bang” from Truman Capote after accidentally shooting and killing her husband, William Woodward Jr., in 1955, mistaking him for an intruder. Although a grand jury cleared her of any wrongdoing, suspicions arose due to the publication of excerpts from Capote’s unfinished novel “Answered Prayers” in 1975, which some believed drew inspiration from the lives of his high-society female acquaintances. Woodward died by suicide in October 1975.
Moore emphasized the importance of portraying a real person with integrity, stating, “It was crucial for me to honor the truth as much as possible.”
