The 32-year-old Nigerian musician made history as the first-ever Afrobeats artist to perform at the annual Grammy Awards.
During the 2024 ceremony, Burna Boy was joined by Brandy and 21 Savage for a captivating performance.
They collaborated on Burna Boy’s 2023 track ‘‘Sittin’ on Top of the World,‘‘ which samples Brandy’s 1998 hit ‘‘Top of the World.
‘‘ Brandy then made her entrance, donning an all-black outfit with knee-high red boots, singing a portion of her hit ‘‘Top of the World.
‘‘ 21 Savage also graced the stage, wearing an all-red leather jacket and pants, delivering his verse on Burna Boy’s track.
This performance was not only a significant moment for Burna Boy but also marked 21 Savage’s first time rapping on the Grammy stage and Brandy’s return after several years.
Brandy’s previous Grammy stage appearance was in 1997 when she performed ‘‘Sittin’ Up In My Room.

Burna Boy and 21 Savage were nominated for the best melodic rap performance at the Grammy Awards on Sunday night. However, they lost to Lil Durk and J. Cole’s “All My Life.” Burna Boy also received recognition in the best African music performance category for his song “City Boys.” 21 Savage, on the other hand, received multiple nominations this year. His collaboration with Drake in 2023, titled “Her Loss,” earned him a nomination in the best melodic rap performance category for their song “Spin Bout U.” Additionally, he was nominated for best rap performance for “Rich Flex,” best rap song for “Rich Flex,” and best rap album for “Her Loss.”

Brandy, who was already a Grammy-winner, entered the performance on Sunday. She had previously won the award for best R&B performance by a duo or group with vocals in 1999 for her song “The Boy Is Mine” with Monica.
