The long-awaited trailer for Deadpool 3, also known as Deadpool & Wolverine, has finally been released, much to the delight of fans. The first glimpse of the movie was unveiled during Super Bowl LVIII. The trailer begins with Wade Wilson, portrayed by Ryan Reynolds, celebrating his birthday, but his joy is short-lived as he is abruptly taken away by the Time Variance Authority, the overseers of the multiverse last seen in Loki Season 2. In addition to Wade Wilson’s witty one-liners, the trailer also offers a glimpse of Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, who was last seen meeting a tragic end in the 2017 film Logan. Although Wolverine’s face remains hidden, his unmistakable silhouette can be seen in the trailer. The clip concludes with a confrontation between Deadpool and Wolverine, with only Wolverine’s shadow and his iconic retractable claws visible, leaving fans eager for more. Deadpool 3 marks the titular character’s entrance into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and the trailer also addresses the Disney acquisition and the integration into the MCU in typical Deadpool fashion. In true Merc With a Mouth style, Deadpool boldly declares, “Your little cinematic universe is about to change forever. I’m the Messiah. I am Marvel Jesus.” The trailer also suggests that the R-rated humor that fans love will continue in the film.
