Kelsea Ballerini, a four-time Grammy nominee, will once again take on the role of solo host for the 2024 CMT Music Awards. This will be her fourth consecutive year leading the fan-voted country music awards show. In addition to hosting, Ballerini will also showcase her talent as a performer during the broadcast. The 2024 CMT Music Awards will be broadcasted live from Austin, Texas’ Moody Center on Sunday, April 7, and will air on CBS. Previously, Ballerini co-hosted the CMT Music Awards in 2021 and 2023 alongside Kane Brown, and remotely hosted the 2022 show. In a statement, Ballerini expressed her excitement about returning for her fourth year, stating that hosting an awards show that celebrates the music loved by fans has been an incredible honor. The show will also be available for streaming on Paramount+, both live and on-demand. Stay tuned for the announcement of this year’s nominees, performers, and presenters in the upcoming weeks. In 2023, Jelly Roll emerged as the evening’s major winner, securing wins for male video of the year (“Son of a Sinner”), breakthrough male video of the year “Offspring of a wrongdoer” and the CMT digital-first presentation of the year, “Son of a Sinner” from CMT All Access. Other winners included Kane Brown and Katelyn Brown, who won video of the year for “Thank God,” and Lainey Wilson, whose “Heart Like a Truck” music video won female video of the year. Shania Twain received recognition for her outstanding contributions in the music industry by being presented with the prestigious CMT equal play award. Notably, Ballerini delivered a memorable performance during last year’s CMT Music Awards, where she performed her song “If You Go Down (I’m Goin’ Down Too)” in a vibrant, retro-themed performance alongside drag queens such as Manila Luzon, Kennedy Davenport, Jan Sport, and Olivia Lux.
