Eddie Howe, the manager of Newcastle, stated that he is not aware of any information regarding the potential departure of sporting director Dan Ashworth to Manchester United.
Ashworth has been linked with a move to Old Trafford after spending two years at Newcastle. Reports suggest that Manchester United have made an approach for him and are optimistic about reaching an agreement soon. When asked for an update on the situation, Howe mentioned that he has limited information to share.
Howe emphasized that Ashworth will come at a high cost if he decides to leave, as he is still under contract with Newcastle.
In light of Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s partial takeover, Manchester United is expected to undergo significant changes. The club has already appointed Omar Berrada from Manchester City as CEO and is looking to bring Ashworth on board.
